The reality for some children in Harlingen is that they face a long weekend with little or nothing to eat. This ministry runs throughout the school year & discreetly provides nutritious, child-friendly, easy-to-prepare food for hungry children to take home over the weekend. We are currently serving 9 schools with a total of 225 kids.
During the school year, volunteers meet at 9:30 am on Wednesdays in the Backpacks Room to help fill backpacks. Contact Rev. Jet Throckton at or 956-245-0540 if you are interested in serving in this special ministry.
