First Methodist Church Harlingen is blessed to have a number of strong leaders guiding our Church family!
Administrative Teams (Requirements: 2 years membership, regular attendance, tithing or working toward a tithe, willing to commit to a 3 year term, and willing to embrace the FMCH Code of Conduct.)
- Church Council - The lead administrative team of the Church.
- Nominations & Leadership Development - This team meets to review who serves on what team.
- Trustees - Our building and land management team.. (Construction, decorators, handymen)
- Finance - This team provides financial oversight and transparency. (Bankers, CPAs, & Home Economists)
- Staff Parish Relations - This team serves as the Human Resources division of the Church. (Management, Human Resources, Business Owners)
Service Teams (Open to everyone)
- Bridge Team - This team provides the administrative support to all of our service teams.
- Welcome Team - This team is our front line of welcome each week. Welcoming members and guests, finding people seats, and helping people feel like this is Home.
- Family Ministries - This team helps out with Youth dinners, Sunday School for kids and teens, and planning Vacation Bible School.
- Missions - This team focuses on reaching out to Harlingen and beyond. The Pumpkin Patch, Costa Rica Mission Trips, and hosting large community events are all part of this team’s scope.
- Second Chance Thrift Shop - This team is a group of volunteers who help run the SCTS. Opportunities to serve are throughout the week at your schedule.
- Hospitality - This team oversees our Wednesday Night Dinners, provides meals for families during funerals, and maintains the Church Kitchens.
